What is the IP address ?

What is a browser ?

What is a cookie ?
A small file, stored on the user’s hard drive, which identifies the server location of a visited website and which, among other things, enables data capture about the user´s navigation activity.
What is a banner ?
A creative item inserted in an advertising space of a web page that contains a link to the advertiser´s website.
What is an impression ?
An impression is a visual advertising item which gets sent to a web browser, and which is then enabled for viewing within that browser.
What is CPT ?
The abbreviation that stands for cost per thousand. It is the term used for estimating the probable costs relative to the number of impressions achieved for a particular campaign. For instance: a cpt of X euros means that the cost of a thousand impressions will be X.
What is an effective click or click-through ?
The click is the user´s action of pressing the mouse button over some element of a web page - whether it is an image or a text, etc.- that contains a link to another URL. The effective click is the action that starts the complete download of the destination page. Adlandis only counts effective clicks in order to optimize the contracted campaigns.
What is CPC ?
The abbreviation that stands for cost per effective click.
What is CTR ?
The abbreviation for the click rate, ´click through-rate.´
The percentage of users who click over a banner or advertising text. It is obtained by dividing the number of clicks by the number of impressions of an advertising item. In general, the more focused on a target audience is the online advertising plan, the higher is its Click Through Rate.
What is a unique user ?
A user distinguished by their unique IP address that enters or returns to a website during a certain period of time. The identification of unique users can be done by using cookies, users registry or through the Internet user panels.
What is a user session ?
An uninterrupted period of time between the beginning and the end of the user´s navigation with a browser. During the same session the user might visit various websites.
What is the Ad audience ?
The number of unique users exposed to an advertisement during a certain period of time.
What is a server ?
An installation comprised of both hardware and software to provide online services, insuring the access and distribution of files and data which can be shared on a local area network (LAN), a wide area network (WAN), or Internet.
What is an adserver ?
An installation comprised of both hardware and software to control and measure dynamically and according to the pre-established parameters, a collection of interactive ads within the advertising spaces of one or more websites.
Unlike a simple banner rotation program, an ad server combines highly complex instructions and variables on every request and sending of creative and campaign items.
What is a tag ?
A Tag is a JavaScript code that is generated by the adserver when a new site is created, this code is inserted in the page of the site and sends requests to the adserver for advertising items to be sent.
What is a page-under ?
It is a page that appears in a new window underneath the browser´s window where we navigate. The page-under remains hidden until the main or previous page gets closed, moved, resized or minimized.
When the window that opens underneath has an advertising size, it´s called pop-under..
What is the frequency of impression ?
The number of times that an advertisement is sent to the same browser in one session or period of time.
What is segmentation ?
It is the process used to divide the market in smaller and smaller groups according to certain characteristics. This segmentation process divides groups into further subgroups or segments, each of them representing uniform common characteristics. As a higher quantity of variables is considered to define any segment of the market, the size of such a group gets smaller and its characteristics more uniform.
What is the geolocalization ?
It is the process that allows the impressions to be displayed in a certain geographic area, be it by city, province, region or country.
